Merton House is a short distance from the town centre shops and beach, where we have 5 miles of award winning coastline. It is ideal for promenading, swimming, water sports or just relaxing in a deck chair. |
Lawn bowls is popular in Worthing where there are several excellent greens at both Beach House Park and Marine Gardens. The English Bowling Association headquarters have been established in Worthing for many years and they host the National Championships annually. Other local events are National Hockey competitions, Sea Front Fair and various themed weekends. |
For the more active you can choose from 5 excellent golf courses, walking or cycling on the South Downs. Nearby there are Fontwell, Goodwood and Brighton racecourses. Goodwood also hosts the Festival of Speed and the Revival Weekend, which have proved to be extremely popular. Whilst Worthing has several parks and gardens with wonderful floral displays it is also surrounded by quaint picturesque villages, historic cities, castles, stately mansions and the remains of Roman Villas. Some favourites from past visitors are Arundel Castle, Bosham Harbour at Chichester, Tangmere and Shoreham Aviation Museums and the Royal Pavilion at Brighton. |
